Thunder Rugby - Savion Atchison

Congratulations to currently Capilano RFC player Savion Atchison for receiving the Phil Mack Youth Award presented by Thunder Rugby. CLICK HERE to view the full details of the announcement. Savion is currently working his way back from an injury this past season and we are looking forward to seeing him back on the pitch next season.

Summer Touch at Klahanie - Thursday Night Schedule

Thursday Night Touch has now started at Klahanie Park. Schedule below for each group. Touch is open to all who are interested in playing. Please feel free to invite others to join. This includes Capilano RFC players who are currently playing for University programs.

6:00pm to 7:00pm Sr. Women (Top Field - West half)

6:00pm to 7:00pm Snowcaps (Top Field - East half)

7:00pm to 8:00pm Sr. Men Competitive (Top Field - West half)

7:00pm to 8:00pm Open Social (Top Field - East half)

For the month of May, Touch will take place on the Top Field at Klahanie Park. Once the high school rugby season is over, Touch will most likely move to the Bob Spray Field.

North Shore High School Rugby

The high school season is nearing regional playoffs which impact seeding for Provincials at the end of the month. This Friday will see a full slate of rugby action at Klahanie Park. Schedule of matchups can be found below. We will share as much infomration on high school regional playoff matchups when those are available.

3:00pm - Grade 6/7 Collingwood vs St. Georges (Top Field)
3:00pm - Jr Boys Collingwood vs Rockridge (Bob Spray Field)

2024 Night of the Bear

If you don't yet have a ticket, please purchase one ASAP. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased by e-transfer (rachel.e.otto@gmail.com)

The format for the event this year will be different from years past. Some of the awards earlier in the evening will be presented outside in the covered grandstands. We expect everyone to dress sharp, as per usual, but some might want to bring a jacket as well! We hope these changes are well received as we attempt to increase the spotlight on our well deserved award recipients.

Night of the Bear - 2024 Event Program

4:30pm to 5:30pm - Social Hour

Join other Capilano RFC members for Social Hour before the offical NOTB program gets underway. Discounted drinks from Wildeye Brewing will be available only during this hour. This will be a great chance for individual and group photos to be taken.

5:30pm to 6:45pm - Club Remarks and Team Awards

The offical NOTB programing begins with the Presidents Remarks. This is to be followed by comments from the Snowcaps, Mini/Youth Program and the Alumni. The Alumni Remarks will include the announcements of the recipients of the Jeremy Dalton Rugby Scholarship and Ozzie Gjerdalen/Jimmy Morris Bursary. Club Merit Pins will also be given out to recognize club volunteers. Forward of the Year and Back of the Year awards will be given out to all five Capilano RFC Senior Teams. To cap off the first half of the evening, the 3rd Division Achievement Award will be announced.

6:45pm to 8:00pm - Dinner

Dinner this year will be provided by Tacofino. There will be a selection of burritos and tacos available. We will not be having the traditional table setup for dinner this year. We hope to have a more social setting for club members to share the dinner portion of the event with each other.

8:15pm to 9:15pm - Club Awards

The second half of the program includes club awards. To kick things off, there will be a toast to club members past and present. Club Awards for the Sr. Women include; Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Player, and the MVP. Club Awards for the Sr. Men include; Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Player and Top Front Row Player. Following that, club awards will be given out for the Top Supporter, Bob Spray Capilano Spirit Award, and the Presidents Award.

10:00pm - DJ

The club will have a DJ playing from 10pm to late. Those without NOTB tickets are welcome to arrive at the club at 10pm. This includes club members, partners, friends, etc. We expect the dance floor to be rocking!
