On November 7, 2022, Nick Allen, a beloved member of the BC and Canadian Rugby community, was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident in Bali, Indonesia.
Nick sustained severe injuries to his head and his extremities and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors identified that Nick had suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and severe damage to his shoulder and forearm, all of which required emergency surgery. The surgery went as well as it could, but there is still a great deal of uncertainty. While Nick continues to show small signs of improvement, it will be a slow process.
This crowdfunding page has been created by Nick Allen’s close friends in support of him and his family.
This is to help Nick and his family pay for all the expenses incurred after this accident. These are almost entirely medical bills. The aim is to raise $200,000 to support Nick’s recovery from this terrible accident. Raised funds will be transferred directly to Nick’s family, who will decide where to best allocate them based on current expenses incurred. Any amount helps and is greatly appreciated.
Nick is a staple to the BC and Canada Rugby community. Nick started his Rugby career with the Capilano Rugby Club and Mulgrave School before heading to the University of British Columbia, where he would complete his undergrad in economics. He also helped lead the Thunderbirds to three BC Men’s Premier League championships during his five years of playing. After completing his undergrad, Nick obtained his law degree at UBC’s Allard School of Law, while playing for the Canadian National Sevens squad.
Please help support Nick in any way you can – by donating to the GoFundMe page or spreading the word within your community.
