Sad News - Bill Ewing

It is with great sadness that the Capilano Rugby Club shares that Bill Ewing has passed away. The Ewing family notified the club that Bill passed on April 3, 2025, just two weeks before his 95th birthday. On behalf of the entire Capilano Rugby Club family, we offer sincere heartfelt condolences to the entire Ewing family. More details on Bill and his contributions to our club can be found below. The club will share any celebration of life details should those become available. Rest easy Bill, you will be missed by all!

Capilano RFC Alumni Spotlight - Bill Ewing

Saturday March 29, 2025 was Alumni Day at Klahanie Park. This was a great day for alumni to reconnect with former teammates. The Capilano Rugby Club recognized and thanked its Alumni for all the contributions made since our clubs inception over 55 years ago.

Capilano RFC President, Nick Belmar, spoke in front of a packed grandstand at Klahanie Park to recognize Bill Ewing for his contributions to our club. We all thank Bill for being one of the founding members of our club. There are three links below with stories about Bill and his contributions. We also want to wish Bill an early happy 95th Birthday (April 15). The Capilano RFC club would like to make this an annual tradition to recognize our alumni (individual, group or team) at every Alumni Day!
