Capilano RFC Upcoming Events

The 2024/2025 season is about to kick-off! There are a number of events in the next few weeks, details for each can be found below. Please check the club email each week for all updates to any events. The Capilano RFC events calendar will have all events added as details are confirmed. Caps4Life

August 29 - Club Cleanup and Big Daddy Dinner

5:00pm - Join other club members for the annual clubhouse cleanup before the new season. All club members are invited to help out. There will be a list of small chores that need to get done. Mostly cleaning. Please bring any brushes, brooms, dusters, dust pans, gloves, and other cleaning supplies.

6:00pm - Snowcaps Touch. All club members are welcome to join.
6:00pm - Sr. Women's Training
7:00pm - Sr. Men's Training

8:30pm - Big Daddy returns to the Capilano RFC kitchen at Klahanie Park. All Capilano RFC members are invited to stay after training on Thursday for a big meal in the clubhouse. We are looking forward to a social Thursday night to kick off the new season!

September 1 - Registration for 2024/2025 Season

Registration for the upcoming 2024/2025 season is now OPEN! The registration link for all groups can be found by clicking here.

For Capilano RFC Mini and Youth Rugby - select BC Rugby, then select CAPILANO YOUTH. There will then be multiple options available to select different age categories. More Capilano specific details and FAQ's can be found by clicking here.

For Capilano RFC Sr. Women and Sr. Men - select BC Rugby, then select CAPILANO RFC. There will then be a few options available to register and pay club dues. Any questions, please contact Chris Robinson at crobinson25@hotmail.com.

September 3 - Deadline to order Pink Jerseys

Don't miss out on the jersey order for Pink Day. Many of the jerseys available have already been purchased but there are still some available. For full details on how to secure a Pink Jersey for 2024 Pink Day on Saturday October 19, please click here.

September 5 - Sr. Women and Sr. Men Photos:

All Capilano RFC Sr. Players are asked to show up for head shot photos to be used throughout the season. Photos will take place downstairs in the Jimmy Morris changeroom. Sr. Women will be between 5pm and 6pm. The Sr. Men will be between 6pm and 7pm. Thank you to Luke Hubner for taking great photos again this season.

September 14 - Home Day at Klahanie Park:

The Capilano RFC Men will host the Meralomas in a preseason exhibition match. This will take place at 1pm on the Bob Spray Field. Regular season matches begin on Saturday September 21, 2024. Full club schedule will be sent out this week.

Before the match, make sure to sign up for the Capilano RFC Alumni Association. There will be an Alumni table set up on the 14th to answer any questions and to help members sign up. For more details on the Alumni Association, please click here.

After the match, Capilano RFC senior players will setup and host a rugby obstacle course for the kids. All kids are welcome to participate and we hope to get everyone excited for the first day of Mini Rugby the following day on Sunday the 15th. This will take place on the Bob Spray field after the Capilano Men host Meralomas.

September 14/15 - BC Rugby Coaching & Officiating Courses:

Rugby Canada and BC Rugby are excited to share a unique opportunity for the women+ Coaching and Match Officiating Communities in BC on September 14-15 as part of World Rugby’s WXV 1 event in Vancouver and Langley from September 29 to October 12.

WXV is central to World Rugby’s ambition to accelerate the growth of the women’s game. Rugby Canada and BC Rugby is pleased to offer a women+ only courses to empower the next generation of women in Coaching and Match Officiating.

September 15 - Capilano RFC Mini Rugby (First Day)

The first day of the 2024/2025 Mini Rugby Season is Sunday September 15, 2024 at 10:00am. We are excited to welcome back all members from last season as well as welcome all new members! More details can be found by clicking here.

September 21/22 - Kamloops Youth 7's:

The Kamloops Youth 7's Tournament returns to McArthur Island Park again this year. Full details for this weekend can be found on the BC Rugby Kamloops 7's page by clicking here.
